From awesome art galleries to amazing ski mountains you can enjoy it all in this town. Two of the areas ski mountains are located near Banner Elk, so winter adventures are in full swing. Featured Attraction: Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster is the first alpine coaster in North Carolina. It sits on 3265 Tynecastle Highway in Banner Elk. The coaster is gravity-fed and in the rider’s control. It can reach up to 27 mph and takes about five minutes to complete its run.
